From the end of last year to the beginning of this year, we participated in a peace-themed art competition sponsored by another NGO and collected children's drawings with the cooperation of local primary schools and an orphanage.
Depending on the age of the children who joined this program, the way they understand what peace is like is different. So we simply asked them to draw on the theme of "what is your peace?
The judgement of art works was delayed due to covid19, but the result finally came out this summer. Three Cambodian children were selected (not as main prizes, though) from more than 300 participants in the world. While travelling overseas is still difficult, it was decided that award certificates would be just sent to each country.
We decided to take this opportunity to select some winning works as BBE, too. We saw children trying their best to draw while most of them were not very familiar with drawing, and we can evaluate such a point.
As BBE, we selected children who understood well about the theme of "peace", and those who are somehow talented, such as mixing colors to draw mountains and trees and as creating a lot of stories in the picture.
The prize included an art supplies set, and we encouraged them to continue to develop their ability to express their ideas and thoughts.
