In Cambodia, public educational facilities before a primary school age such as kindergartens are not many. Before the civil war, the standard of education was high and the opportunity to learn was plenty. And people had enriched heart. The civil war took away a lot of lives and many other things, too. In a remote area, it would be good to introduce this kind of program –beading or drawing – as a part of mother-infant health program. In a program to write children’s names in a foreign language, the delegation tried to dictate children’s names and write down their foreign spellings on a sketchbook. Children copied it with their favorite color of crayons. It is also good for the child brain to copy something they see.
