For elder children, we introduced a game to make up a sentence from random words. Each child draws 2 cards from a word card deck, and make a sentence by using those 2 words. It’s a game of creativeness. We totally welcome unrealistic sentences or stories.

We prepared words that seem not to often appear in a children’s daily life. For example, a noun includes “Mr. Kirirom” and “flower vase” and a verb includes “stumble” and “peek.” Adverbs, adjectives and onomatopoeic words were prepared a lot. If “noisy” and “slippery” are picked, what kind of sentence can be made?
A child who drew “dripping” and “slowly” created a nice sentence, “When I slowly looked back to the sound of water drop, water was dripping on a pearl.” If one says “Water is slowly dripping,” it is very simple, and of course we won’t criticize even a child makes such a straightforward sentence. We were just happy to see her own sensitivity to come up with a pearl.
