Creative stories

In this creative sentence game, some children were able to make only one sentence, while others were able to make many even though each sentence itself was simple. Next, we asked the children to choose one of the sentences they made and to draw a picture of it. This was the preparation for the 3rd game.

After all finished drawing, we divided them to form small groups again. And let them exchange the drawings of the group members with other groups. Now each group held 3 to 5 sheets of drawings with no previous knowledge about the backgrounds of those. The 3rd game is to combine these drawings and create a completely new story as a group.

Here again, children buzzed upon knowing the content of the game. Still, they discussed together in each group and finally managed to complete one story. Containing some interesting developments and poetic compositions, I think all did a good job. The facial expressions of the children talking about their thoughts were very rich and I felt vitality from them.

These programs were planned with the aim of allowing children to experience to see things differently and to cultivate novel perspectives. I hope every step like this will make the lives of these children deeper.
