Children hold their name panels when we take group or individual photos so that their foster parents easily find them out in photos. The panels had been simple with only names written on them, but this time we asked children to decorate their own panels with colors.
In public schools especially in rural areas, there is no art/craft class provided yet. And since color pencils are not daily necessities, few children have them. Some said they were curious to draw a picture but didn't know how to draw. Though many were not sure how to draw, the color pens themselves were new and attractive to them and they were willing to pick them up. Once starting to work on, they seemed to enjoy drawing by lining up flowers with a variety of colors or putting various colors in one tree.
Some are not good at writing or some speak little when we play word games, but still some among them draw delicate or very creative pictures. It's fun to find such individuality and special talents of each.
