The purpose of this event is, of course, to provide an experience that can be gained through craft-making. It develops children’s manual dexterity and spatial cognitive abilities. It can also foster their creativity and expressiveness. But the most fundamental goal was to stimulate their artistic sensibilities.
In a life where living from day to day is the top priority, I sometimes think that children and people have little experience of being moved by something and admiring, "Oh, this is beautiful.'' Therefore, with these colorful paper, paper with beautiful and fun patterns, pretty ribbons, or sparkling glitter, which are not found in their everyday lives, we wanted them to be moved and wanted to share the feeling of using such beautiful things.
Some children may also find the concept of using blue sequins and glitter to represent waves and water to be novel. Although children have numerous occasions to have direct contact with great nature, they may spend more time living in fixed ideas rather than flexible ways of thinking. That's why we wanted to expand the boundaries of their expression. Rather than just folding pages, they may be able to find or even make something new in their daily lives that can be used as bookmarks. And not just bookmarks, in the future, they may be able to expand their ideas to use things in other ways rather than merely in the original way.
