This is not a program for children who demand for knowledge at a tutoring school. Rather, its purpose is to offer joyful experiences to learn and discover for children whose learning opportunity is limited. And hence, we selected visually pleasing materials for them to use in the program.
For example at a paper bridge experiment, papers to become bridges should be colorful. But not so deep colors which make it difficult for children to measure. As for a supporting stands, we obtained nice-looking wooden boxes & blocks as many as possible instead of ordinary empty boxes. To use something new shall be also pleasant for children.
On the other hand, as for a cutting work program, we prepared normal color papers. We avoided a one with pretty patterns on purpose because we wanted children to focus on making interesting holds or shapes by themselves.
When we conduct a writing program also, we prepare color papers instead of plain white paper. If we can prepare pretty pencils as gifts it should be great. There are many children who are not good at writing or even don’t like writing, just because they are not used to it. Those children shouldn’t feel, “Oh something I don’t like is starting,” when they see we deliver pens and papers. With a nice pen and paper, we hope a feeling like “I want to write something!” will well up in them.
