Writing work (1)

As for compositions, I can easily guess that most children don’t like to write.  And I thought they would surely feel bored to do with ordinary white papers, and so I prepared bright color papers instead.  And a pretty 2-color pen for each child, too, as a small New Year gift.  Foster parents will also feel fresh to receive these color papers from their children.  Next time I want to use still another color for children’s work.

About the content of the activity on the other hand, their writings were in fact not really based on a brainstorming.  Almost all children just wrote sentences by connecting answers to our example questions: personality, appearance, job, family roles of each family member, and how that child usually does or talks with him/her.  This is a point to look back that we couldn’t take enough time to think through with children.

We can focus on how to brainstorm next time.  If they can get used to it, this custom to dig up and organize ideas shall be a useful tool at various opportunities in the future, not only for writing essays.
