Writing work (3)

Many of those who usually write letters with a rich content were also describing well how everyone in the family lives every day.

There were a few children who even divided their compositions into preface and main text, and there was one child who tried to consist his composition with preface, main, and conclusion!  That’s wonderful!

In fact those prefaces were not really introducing the contents, and conclusion was not really a summary of that composition, though.  These are our future challenges.

Nonetheless I can see that this difference came from each child’s everyday experiences.   There will be not many children who have a textbook for Khmer class, but those who often read books at the library (although the stock books shall be limited) somehow know how to construct a composition.

In the meantime, even in such compositions where people’s daily actions were well written, there were not many kinds of adjectives used.  Generally, “kind” and “polite” were used a lot, but only a few children were using unique adjectives and figurative expressions.  We may want to introduce some activities for children to increase adjectives next time as an extension of a description practice.
